Can A Puppet Ever Really Live?

Father, you wished upon a star and got a wooden boy.
You loved the boy.
The boy loved you.
And one day he was real.

Mother, you wished upon a star and got a wooden girl.
You loved the girl.
The girl loved you.
But know she doesn't know what to feel.

You've taught her well.
She'll always be responsible, kind and pure.
But, Mother, unless you stop pulling her strings
the girl will never be sure.

Father, you wished upon a star and got a wooden boy.
You loved the boy.
The boy loved you.
And one day he was real.

Mother, you wished upone a star and got a wooden girl.
You loved the girl.
The girl loved you.
And she wants so much to be real.

Let her go.
Let her be on her own.

The father created a puppet.
The mother created one too.
But the wooden boy was only that,
And the wooden girl doesn't know what to do.

Be patient with her.
Try to understand.
The girl wants to be a woman.
The boy will never be a man.

Give her room.
Let her try her wings.
Or is it just too hard to let go?
