The Competitor

The kids and I were talking last night and planning ahead for their upcoming visits - something we find is useful to all of us since our time together is limited and we want to make sure to prioritize the things that are most important.

When I mentioned to the kids that we would be attending the Ward Picnic on August 15th, the reaction was one of "ok". When I mentioned there would be a dessert making contest boychild's reaction was, "can 13 year olds enter?".

Of course they can. He's trying to come up with some sort of original, yummy treat to share with his 2nd Ward friends.

Funny how his level of enthusiasm changed when there was the word "contest".

Of course, girlchild and I are plotting and planning a colorful and fun dessert. We have several ideas in mind. Now to just narrow them down to one, especially since there's a category for "best use of color".

Hmmm. I guess the boy comes by it naturally.
